2 Timothy 2:1-6 | If you want to get stronger you only need one thing. Resistance. In Paul’s second letter to Timothy, he continues to challenge him to get stronger by giving him three vivid pictures. Soldier. Athlete. Farmer. All three know a lot about facing resistance. Soldiers fight. Athletes compete. Farmers work. If we want to become stronger followers of Jesus we have to embrace the resistance we face on a daily basis as an opportunity to become stronger and more effective.

Genesis 1:27-31; Genesis 2:15-17 | Our culture teaches men that they can gain their value and worth through their performance on a field, at work, or in the bedroom. The essence of manhood is a God given mandate to provide for and protect.

Matthew 7:24-29 | A well-prepared life must be constructed on a true foundation. There are a lot of ideas, philosophies, and worldviews available to us, but only one will truly hold up when pain, suffering, and adversity comes our way.

In fact, the things we look at can affect all our thoughts and interactions with God and others. Jesus said, “But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness.” This message will consider how to protect ourselves from the harmful effects of all types of media.

James 5:13-16 | One of the best gifts we can give someone we care about is to pray for them on a daily basis. Inviting God to help the people we care about exposes them to a power source they cannot generate on their own. In this message we will learn how to talk to God in a conversational way.
