What is membership?
1 Corinthians 12:12-13 says "For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body"
At Southland, we believe that when you are baptized by immersion, you become a part of the body of Christ, the Church. After you’ve been baptized, you also have the opportunity to place membership with us. As a member, you have a vital role to play and unique gifts that God has given you to serve within the local church. Becoming a member means that you are committing to not only join Southland in our mission to love God and love people, but also intentionally choosing to leverage your time, talent, and finances so that more and more lost and broken people can meet and know Jesus like you have.
Why does membership matter?
When you become a follower of Jesus by definition you are saying you need not only Jesus' saving grace but also to be a part of a community of followers of Jesus. You need us and we need you. When you become a member that gives us the opportunity to help you get connected and stay connected in the life of our church.
