Over Creation
Colossians 1:15-23 | The word preeminent isn’t one we use very often and it wasn’t used often when Paul wrote it. It’s a perfect word to describe a perfect Savior. Not only is creation in His hands, we are in His hands and because of that we are free to worship him.
The Emotional Side of Christianity
Colossians 3:1-17 | When our minds are set on the right things our emotions will follow. Our feelings can and should be shaped by who God is and what He has done for us.
Get an Imperfect Job
Proverbs 16:3, Colossians 3:23 | What you do is simply that, it’s what you do. It is not who you are. Working is a good thing but it’s not an ultimate thing. Our ultimate purpose is to honor and glorify God with who we are and what we do. This means our job doesn’t have to provide us with fulfillment, satisfaction, or joy because God is the source of those good things in life.
Get Help
Proverbs 11:14, 12:15, 15:22, 19:20, 25:11, Colossians 4:6, I Thessalonians 5:11 | The Bible says, “A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.” Few things are more helpful than an encouraging word. Solomon said, “There is wisdom in a multitude of counselors.” In this message we will examine how giving and receiving truth spoken in love can bring healing into our lives.
Teach One Another
Colossians 3:16-17 | We never outgrow our need to learn new things. One of the beautiful blessings in being a member of God’s family is we have so many people to tap into when we need help, perspective, counsel, encouragement, and correction. In this message, we will explore who to turn to when we want to grow in a specific area of our lives.
Forgive One Another
Colossians 3:12-15 | It’s never easy to forgive someone when they’ve hurt you. We tend to replay the mean things they said and did to the point that it can become a consuming and unwelcomed memory. In this message we will learn how to forgive others and the benefits that come when we walk away from the desire to retaliate.
