Flood RESPONSE

Join the Southland Response contact list for real-time flood relief updates and future response needs.

Thank you for praying for our neighbors in eastern Kentucky who are dealing with catastrophic flooding. We have been in contact with state officials, local agencies, and churches in the towns affected.

As a church, here is how we are responding to support and bless our fellow Kentuckians:

Pray

Prayer is one of the first and most powerful ways we can serve those affected by the flooding in eastern Kentucky. Here are some specific ways we can pray:

  • That God would comfort the families and friends who lost loved ones, and that He would give hope to those who lost homes and stability.

  • That the townspeople and first responders will have the emotional support needed to process the emotions that come from this kind of disaster.

  • That relief workers of every kind would bring unique skills, helpful resources, and genuine empathy to serve the needs of these communities over time.

  • That the Church would rise up as the hands and feet of Jesus—pastoring people through crisis, offering people hope, loving people generously, serving people selflessly, and leading community restoration in impactful ways.

  • For New Beginnings Church in Pikeville. We are current partners with this church plant.
